North Yorkshire-based commercial engineering firm Robinsons M & E Ltd working in partnership with Strategic Team Group has started work on site in Leeds constructing a new build specialist supported care facility contract for Housing and Care 21.
Robinson M & E, which is based in Harrogate, won the Boston Spa Care Housing contract last year to design and build 44 specialist supported living and care apartments on the site of the former Primrose Hill Care Home at Westwood Way in Boston Spa. Housing and Care 21 is a leading not-for-profit provider of housing and support services for older people.
Robinsons MEA’s remit will be to design and install all electrical and mechanical facilities onsite including fire systems, energy efficient heating and cooling systems, external lighting, CCTV and intercomms.
“Within Robinsons, we have a specialist engineering team that understands the requirements of care and nursing homes. Our inhouse expertise designs, installs and maintains these facilities to provide quality life the residents,” Edgar Chibaka, Managing Director stated.
Some of the major healthcare facilities designed and installed include: Brighouse Care Home, Oak Trees Care Home, Vida Hall, Harrogate, Connaught Court, Apley Grange Nursing Home, Harrogate, Whitby Care Home, Southlands Assisted Living Apartments & Care Home, Leeds.
The contract to Robinsons MEA was awarded by Strategic Team Group based in Castleford following a competitive tender process. Strategic Team Group is a well-established building and property services company provides a comprehensive range of construction services from design and build, refurbishment and regeneration to minor works and long-term maintenance contracts often in highly-sensitive areas within hospital and care home environments.
